The creek outside my studio is starting to gurgle. It's been silent since January. Winter is still gripping my piece of Alaska, but it won't be long before "green up" arrives, that miracle of spring that moves a green hue up the tree trunks until it bursts forth as new leaves. It is fitting that I start Silk Creek Studio just as the new season arrives. The scarves I create on silk are pictures of my heart responding to the beauty around me. I paint in one of God's most beautiful creations -- Alaska. The scarves are just the beginning. The big question is: Can I paint fast enough to get all the pictures out of my mind and onto the silk before they fade away? I'm going to really enjoy trying.
